After over two years of struggle with lung cancer Sherri Walters passed away on Monday, February 21st, 2011. For more information, please visit her memorial site.
This homeschooling site will be maintained by her friends and family to serve as a resource, as she intended. We hope to add content to the site in the future. For now, enjoy what Sherri placed here.

Welcome to my website in progress. I have been saying for years that I would update my portfolio evaluation website to be more useful to those who live and learn at home. Moms bring their children for evaluations in the Spring and say “I should have called you. I was so unsure of myself. I wanted to try this new idea.” I’m hoping to offer you inspiration and support. I believe deep down inside we know how to let our children learn. We know how to encourage them just enough to let that love of learning, that desire to find out about their world that they come to us with to stay with them for their entire lives.
Life’s too short for Worksheets!
As many of you know I have been living the last two years with a non-smokers lung cancer. Over Christmas I came close to knowing more than I wanted about how short life is and what is important as we make our way through each day. If you and time grant me the chance to do your families evaluation this year I have made a change in priorities for us to follow in our quest to live, love and learn with our families. You already know I do portfolio evaluations and I do not do testing. To this I am adding: I do not review worksheets or workbooks. I only want to see examples of you and your family living, loving and learning together. Life is too short for anything else.
The Basics
I am a home school mom with New Hampshire certification. As I meet my certification requirements, I try to find books, courses and activities that pertain to my work as a home school portfolio evaluator and supporter of families and their ability to home school. I live a few miles outside of Fitzwilliam in southern New Hampshire.
This site is dedicated to~
My three boys, Andrew, Daniel and Matthew, who I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to learn with for so many years. They still come home to share the lives full of learning with me. We are still learning together!
My husband Andrew, who exhibits the characteristics of a true life long learner. May we have a long time to live, love and learn together.
